In the fall of 2026, led by Jennifer Brady, the Hungry Stories team will begin a study of what kids in Halifax think about Shy Cat and how it shapes their perspectives of food insecurity in their lives and communities.

Kendra Patrick and the Hungry Stories Team are partnering with The Falls Food Hub in Smith’s Falls, Ontario, to run a Shy Cat book club for kids in the fall of 2026. We’re looking forward to hearing directly from young people about what they’ve learned from the book. As well, they’ll have the opportunity to share their ideas about solutions to food insecurity.

Also in the fall of 2026, the Hungry Stories Team is partnering with Dr. Annabelle Wilson of Flinders University, in Adelaide, Australia, to run a student-led research project focused on Shy Cat.
